So, what did we do in 2007?

Rose Parade 2007 (Pasadena, USA)

Appearance of the Belgian 501st Garrison, in conjunction with other 501st Garrisons.

100 years P&V insurance

Appearance of the Belgian 501st Garrison.

Reboot 57 (Dendermonde, Belgium)

Belgian 501st Garrison member Jelle Boucher (IC-8042) requested help from his fellow Garrison members, to create the look of a post-nuclear war army which he needed for his short film. The Belgian 501st Garrison gladly supported him, by supplying props and helping to create the costumes for the soldiers. Apart from that, they handled all key roles of extras.

Celebration Europe (London, United Kingdom)

Combined appearance of the Belgian 501st Garrison and the Crescent Moon Alliance, as per request of Lucasfilm Ltd. Both groups were loaded with acknowledgments from all over the globe, for the unique work done on this event.

Shooting test (Westende, Belgium)

As the Belgian 501st Garrison is working on its own fanfilm project, this day was selected to get some necessary test footage on location.

Auchan invasion (Mont-st-martin, France)

Two members of the Belgian 501st Garrison crossed the border to deploy the AT-AT walker prop in the Auchan mall in Mont-st-martin, France. For a whole week, the mighty warbeast protected shoppers from harm.

Stargate Special (Filmfestival of Oostende, Belgium)

The Belgian Costume Division VZW maintains an excellent relationship with 20th Century Fox and was requested to appear on the Filmfestival in Oostende, for their Stargate Special which announced the release of the new DVD-boxes.

F.A.C.T.S. (Ghent, Belgium)

Full appearance of the Belgian Costume Division VZW, including the Belgian 501st Garrison and the Crescent Moon Alliance. Introduction of a whole bunch of new costumes, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Raphaello, the Alien Warrior, Jack Sparrow, Elisabeth Swann and more... Also the first appearance of the Stargate-project, which was under construction at the time. The 501st Belgian Garrison and the Crescent Moon Alliance once again stole the show Star Wars-wise, by presenting the Jabba set and performing the act; and by demonstrating the newest droid-creations in conjunction with the internationally well-known R2-builders.
All in all, the appearance on FACTS was judged the most impressive display of the entire FACTS-convention, by thousands of visitors.

Scandinavian Sci-fi and movie convention (Stockholm, Sweden)

Appearance of the Belgian 501st Garrison in conjunction with the Nordic 501st Garrison and the United Kingdom 501st Garrison.

Bar mitzwa (Paris, France)

Appearance of the Belgian 501st Garrison.

NATO Supply and Organisation personnel party (Capellen, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg)

Appearance of the Belgian 501st Garrison, with some additional non-Star Wars costumes.

Charity

This year, the Belgian 501st Garrison chose to assist with a petition, requesting refunds for reconstructions of amputated breasts, using own tissue. As many women who were amputated after breast cancer, do not have the money to afford this method of reconstruction, this petition was set up to help them. The request was made to the 501stBG, which we happily accepted. Over the course of months, the petition was spread among people on events and through our members, ultimately helping the charity action reach their goal of 10000 autographs, with 6 weeks to spare.

Workshops

Due to the high level of events this year, we also had to organise a lot of workshops to prepare all the Big Props for the appearances. Many hours of work went into the repairing and refurbishing of the already exisiting props, but a new project was also started.
